Valentine’s Day is always exciting for couples and those who are looking to elevate the holiday this year will find it’s a simple thing to do when you set your sights on Orlando! The following are just a few romantic activities in Orlando you’ll want to enjoy when you book your romantic getaway here.
Get a New and Romantic View of Your Surroundings
Couples making their way to Orlando over Valentine’s Day who are looking to see things from a new perspective together are sure to find a hot air balloon or helicopter ride endlessly romantic! The year-round good weather in central Florida means options for these adventures are readily available for adventurers in February. Companies like Painted Horizons Hot Air Balloon Tours are great local options for booking reservations for hot air balloon rides while you’re in town. Most rides are early morning adventures and some even include a Champagne toast when you return to the earth once more! Those who are looking to include a helicopter tour of the city on their Valentine’s Day itinerary will love booking companies where tours depart directly from the city’s iconic International Drive! International Heli-Tours and Air Force Fun Helicopter Tours North are just a few of the many options to consider when you’re making your Valentine’s Day plans.
Take A Romantic Ride Around The Wheel
Another route to relishing romantic sights together while you’re in Orlando over Valentine’s Day is to book a ride for two around The Wheel at ICON Park. This stunning Ferris Wheel takes vistas to new heights and provides couples with a unique way to create memories together. The Wheel rises 400 feet into the sky and those who book a ride in the evening hours will get the added benefit of a colorful sunset and starry sky to follow included in the experience. Booking a private capsule is the way to go for the most romantic take on the trip. Private capsules can also be reserved to include Champagne along the way. Booking early is recommended as this is a popular option during this most romantic time of year.
Tour Disney in a New Way
If the thought of visiting Disney theme parks doesn’t sound extra romantic, making the most of the Disney Skyliner and ferry boats might just change your mind! The Disney Skyliner is made up of multiple gondolas that run between parks and resorts. The advantage of using these gondolas as a romantic excursion is that you can take in the magical views from above at your own, leisurely pace. These elevated routes are even more enchanting at night and can be linked up with ferry boat tours on the ground. This is perhaps a more adult-focused way to relish the theme parks without leaving romance out of the equation.
Savor Time at Lake Eola Park
When Valentine’s Day in Orlando sees you and the one you love most spending quality time together downtown, making time for a romantic stop at Lake Eola Park is always a good idea. This beautiful and historic park dates back to 1888 and today, continues to provide locals and visitors alike with an oasis of green space in the center of a vibrant downtown district. From the signature fountain to the swan boats you can peddle in tandem, Lake Eola Park is filled with opportunities to embrace romantic moments of all kinds. Consider a stroll hand-in-hand, or enjoy a picnic followed by an outdoor movie!
Let the Harry P. Leu Gardens Set the Romantic Scene
When immersing yourself in the beauty of nature inspires romantic vibes, time at the Harry P. Leu Gardens is sure to be well-spent. This 50-acre botanical garden showcases amazing statues, beautiful water features, and a collection of floral gardens that highlight blooms from around the world! A stroll across the gardens promises to be unforgettable and there are plenty of flower-surrounded benches to settle into when you’re looking to cozy up and enjoy the view.
Take a Couple’s Bike Ride Together
For the couple that loves to cycle together, a ride along the West Orange Trail is always a delight. Known and loved as Orlando’s premier bike path, this route can be followed to Plant Street Station which gets cyclists close to Winter Garden. This area comes with romance included thanks to the moss-covered oaks along this specific portion of the trail. Build in time to unwind, relax, and enjoy each other’s company before heading back!

The Vacation Home of Your Dreams
We love our homes, but let’s face it: There is always something that comes up lacking as you fight for room in the kitchen, stand outside with the hose in hand watering the grass until you can afford a sprinkler system, or even turn an extra bedroom into a closet, limiting the guests who can visit, simply so you have enough room for your clothes! Booking now will ensure that in just a few short months you will be strutting up to the front door of the vacation home of your dreams, inputting the key code, and taking over the premises with a smile that stays plastered to your face the duration of your vacation in paradise! Lose Yourself in Your Dreams
Your daily life is hectic, and for five days of every week you wake up early and drag yourself into work to face angry clients, bosses, and coworkers. You can actually feel the sun beating down on your shoulders as you sip mojitos while floating on the giant pink flamingo in the pool. These moments of peace and relaxation will give you the opportunity to forget about responsibilities and lose yourself in the dreams of the perfect vacation brought to you by Magnolia Villas. Give yourself the happy ending you deserve by booking one of our vacation rentals near Orlando, Florida for your summer getaway today!

A Fiery Example of History
This next activity is only available on Fridays and Saturdays, but families with little boys and girls will want to add a visit to the Orlando Fire Museum to their itinerary, even if the sun is shining brightly. Located at 814 E Rollins Street inside a brick firehouse built in the 1920s, the exhibits found here cover decades of firefighting history and include a variety of uniforms, equipment, historic fire trucks, and a fascinating glimpse into the bedrooms that are built into every station.
No, we are not suggesting you head out in the rain for a game of golf; we are inviting you to enjoy 18 holes of colorful fun at the Putting Edge indoor miniature golf course! Black lights and neon colors make mini golf fun as you move from themed hole to themed hole, exploring the ocean, the jungles, and the mysteries of outer space with your kids and spouse. Located at 5250 International Drive and offering a cool respite from the dreary weather outside, spending a couple of hours here is fun on rainy and sunny days!
Photos with the Stars
Another popular activity in Orlando is Madame Tussauds Wax Museum, located at 8387 International Drive, where you can mingle with big-time celebrities that include Shrek, Taylor Swift, and our personal favorite, Jason Momoa as Aquaman. Take your turn in the hot seat as you are “interviewed” by Jimmy Fallon on the Tonight Show, pose at the big desk in the Oval Office, or help Superman hold up a helicopter, saving everyone who is inside! The options are limitless at Madame Tussauds, and the fun never ends!
At Home with Magnolia Villas
Of course, there is no law that says you have to leave the premises of your Magnolia Villas vacation escape! Staying in for the day has never been so fun as you sleep late, play games, and maybe, take a swim in the rain because you know you can’t get any more wet. Reserve your stay with us today!
Not all vacations are created equal, as you fulfill different needs in different cities. Perhaps you need a break from everything, and you are choosing a quiet country getaway, far away from the hustle and bustle in the world, or maybe you crave the buzz of the frenetic atmosphere of a big city. Maybe you are interested in doing it all: spending time with the kids at the amusement park, relaxing and finding peace by a private pool, and getting out to enjoy all the exciting adventures your vacation destination has to offer. When you want to have the option to do just about anything, Orlando is the place to be! As you live it up from the comfort of our Magnolia Villas sanctuaries, this guide to the top tours you can experience in our favorite place on earth will ensure that you get the opportunity to do it all.
Ghost Tours of Orlando
Why not get your blood flowing right from the start with a chilling ghost tour offered by Orlando Haunts! We are not alone in the world, and the wonderful guides know the tragic underbelly of Orlando; they will take you to where the spirit world and our world collide! Learn the terrifying tales of pirate’s pillaging gone bad, the woeful stories of love gone wrong, and the truly sad narrative of those who lived alone, died alone, and are now just looking for some company as the centuries slowly pass by.
The Most Delicious Tours of All
Our favorite part of any vacation is getting a chance to taste the flavors of the region, and the best way to do so in Orlando is with a food tour offered by Wandering Palms! Savor your way through the Milk District neighborhood with a variety of tours, including the Neighborhood Eats tour, which will take guests to five local restaurants, and the Almond Milk District Vegan Tour that also visits five restaurants but is focused on the plant-based meals that are so yummy in this region. Finally, they also offer the Foodtography Mills 50; perfect for all you budding influencers who love posting all the pics of all the foods you have enjoyed over the years, this tour visits four different restaurants but includes tips and hints on how to take the best pictures of your meals! Book your most delicious tour here.
Make Up Your Own Tour
After all that food, you are probably feeling a little thirsty, so why not make up your own tour of the Orlando wine bars and sip your way fantastic through the night? Ride share services make this tour safe for all involved as you sip in and out of Wine Bar George, Vine’s Grille and Wine Bar, the Eola Wine Company, and a host of other wine bars in the area! At last count, we noted eight fantastic places to sip and savor, but that number is always changing! Although we cannot say that we have a favorite wine bar, we can tell you there is a soft spot in our hearts for the Wine Room on Park Avenue, located in nearby Winter Park, and offering over 150 handpicked wines for you to try. We do not recommend trying all 150 in one night, however, and if your goal is to try them all out, we suggest making more than a few trips!
The Bird’s Eye View Tour
Orlando is a beautiful city, but its size prevents visitors from really being able to enjoy all its charms unless you choose a helicopter tour offered by Air Force Fun! Flying you over all the spots you may want to visit personally, later on, the tour times range from a quick 4- to 5-minute tour that takes you over Universal Studios, Islands of Adventure, and Volcano Bay to the monster flight tour that lasts 20 to 25 minutes! Otherwise known as tour number 6, this flight will give you a bird’ eye view of the best of Orlando, including SeaWorld, Disney’s ESPN Wide World of Sports, and Gatorland!
From the Sky to the Sea
Well, not exactly the sea, as Orlando is about an hour’s drive away from the beach, but the kayak tours offered by Get Up and Go Kayaking in nearby Winter Park. They offer daylight tours of the lakes in clear kayaks that allow you to see all that swims below, and nighttime tours that feature kayaks with color-changing LED lights to add an extra twinkle to your explorations! Also offering sunset tours that will take your breath away (Remember to keep hold of your paddle and don’t let it slip away in the excitement of the moment!), this tour company is one of the best in the region.

Enjoy Amazing Outdoor Adventures and Plan Exactly What To Do During Orlando Summers
The early summer is a great time to visit Orlando and enjoy all the outdoor activities. Many flock to the Orlando area in the summer months for its many activities and easy beach access. Many theme parks have just opened their gates for the season, including Disney World, SeaWorld, Universal Studios Florida, and Islands of Adventure. There are beautiful lakes near Orlando with plenty of fishing opportunities. Here are some details on early summer activities in Orlando.
Well, Theme Parks!
Let’s be clear: theme parks rock everything! This is the main reason people come to Orlando, and even if you come here thinking you will skip them, chances are you’ll visit at least one. It might be so much fun you’ll go to the others, too.
Walt Disney World is perhaps the most well-known. This magical land of make-believe is popular with young and old alike and has experienced for all ages. The young ones will see all their favorite Disney characters as they walk along the paths to the next ride. Older children will love the thrills of the more adventurous rides and special events. Adults may enjoy the shopping and dining, but most of them would rather get on the rides themselves!
On a warm day, you can also visit their waterparks. Typhoon Lagoon has a fun surf pool, a water coaster ride, a huge body slide, and a water playground for the littles. Blizzard Beach has an exciting body slide called Summit Plummet, one of the world’s tallest and fastest. It also has shoot-the-rapids with tubes, a toboggan race, and Tyke’s Peak, a play area for younger children. Orlando Watersports Complex is also a ton of fun, but more on that later.
Universal Orlando has some fabulous movie-themed rides, with Fast and Furious-Supercharged, Despicable Me Minion Mayhem, E.T. Adventure, Transformers-The Ride 3D, and Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit starring the lineup. Islands of Adventure has its own magical and exciting themes, from Hagrid’s Magical Creatures Motorbike Adventure to Jurassic Park River Adventure.
Legoland Florida is always a fun trip! Besides the exciting theme park rides, they have a water park and the new Peppa Pig Theme Park. SeaWorld is always a family favorite, and Busch Gardens in Tampa is chock full of fun!
Animals, Animals, and More Animals!
If you ever wanted to get close to a gator, you can do that at Gatorland, where you can get up close and personal with an alligator! There are other adventures at the park, along with zip line and off-roading. One of the unique things about Gatorland is their Trainer for a Day program. Ages 12 and up will get a chance to see what it’s like to work with animals—dangerous ones! Are you ready?
Discovery Cove is one of the most popular places to swim with the wildlife. You can swim with a dolphin, hold the birds in the aviary, and go snorkeling with tropical fish in their coral reef habitat.
Outside of the several theme parks, Orlando has plenty to do in terms of outdoor adventures. You can rent a boat to explore Ocala National Park or hit one of the beach attractions nearby. There are also some exciting outdoor adventures, like the Orlando Tree Trek Adventure or Wild Willy’s Airboat Tours. It’s also fun to just go hiking along the trails in Orlando and watch for native wildlife.
If it is warm enough, watersports are a great way to enjoy the Orlando sunshine. You can rent kayaks, wave runners, and more from one of many rental companies. There are also some fabulous fishing opportunities in Florida with freshwater lakes all over the place. From largemouth bass to the beautiful sailfish, offshore fishing is fun and fun to watch for the whole family.
If you like paddle boarding, waterskiing, wakeboarding, or kneeboarding, Buena Vista Watersports has what you need. They also have tube rides and pontoon boats and the much-loved Jet Ski for rent as well.
If you want some excitement and lots of different activities, don’t miss the Orlando Watersports Complex. They have two full-sized cables, an aquapark, wakeboarding, wake surfing, kneeboarding, wakeskating, and more. There are so many activities here you may need to visit twice!
If it rains one day on your trip, or you want a break from the outdoors, not a problem! In the morning, you can see Madam Tussauds or WonderWorks–the hands-on interactive STEM exhibit–then have lunch at one of the fabulous restaurants in Orlando. Once you’re satisfied, check out Ripley’s Believe It Or Not museum or Chocolate Kingdom, where you can tour a chocolate factory and even make your own treat!
