In today’s world, the pictures we take go no further than our favorite social media sites, only to be looked at again every year when they pop up in our memories. No longer do we pay to have them developed, dropping them off for an hour (or in the very early days a week or longer) and carefully label and place them in photo albums, never to be looked at again! During our travels, however, every so often we take a picture and immediately think to ourselves, “Hey! This one should be framed!” More than likely these pictures will be of the beautiful views experienced in our travels, and whether you think you have some extra wall space that needs filled, or you just want to be amazed at some breathtaking sites, this list of the top five spots to visit for gorgeous Orlando views will ensure that your viewing goals will be accomplished!
Harry P. Leu Gardens, 1920 North Forest Avenue
Botanical prints are popular for a reason; how can any pictures of flowers not class up your walls? The Harry P. Leu Gardens is, of course, an easy choice for our list, but they are also not the usual gardens. This privately-owned site contains 40 acres of plants brought back from the travelers of the happily married Leu family. Yes, while most people bring back magnets and coffee cups as mementos of their trips, the Leus have brought back plants, creating a garden that is a marvel of whimsy and beauty, giving visitors views that will take their breath away! Wander along the flowery paths, enjoying the butterflies that flit from bloom to bloom, seeking out the fairy doors, an exhibition that returns to the gardens regularly, or simply sit and reflect on the beauty of the gardens, the ponds, or the peacocks that wander freely throughout.
Bob’s Balloons, 8279 Champions Gate Boulevard in Championsgate
It should be of no surprise that the best views often are the ones from above, and although there are no mountains in the Orlando/Kissimmee area, you will not be disappointed when you choose to take a tour via hot air balloon! Bob’s Balloons fly over the most beautiful parts of the region, including the lakes, parks, and wooded areas that create natural scenic spots. Take a sunrise flight and see if you can spot the wildlife venturing from their beds to seek water and food as the sky turns a kaleidoscope of colors with the rising sun. Enjoy Disney World as you never have before, seeing it from the sky, and discovering it is just as magical from above as it is on land! The quiet of the morning, interspersed with the gasps of hot air being pumped into the colorful balloon above you, and the best views in Orlando from the basket in which you are standing, create an experience that will linger in your memories for years to come!
The Wheel at ICON Park, 8375 International Drive
Again, it is the view from above factor that makes our hearts beat a little faster, and as you climb aboard the Wheel at ICON Park, prepare for a smorgasbord of views you will never forget. Encased in a comfortable gondola with the wheel slowly rotating, offering panoramic views of the city, the landscape, and the lakes, ponds, and rivers that are an integral part of our tropical paradise, you may just wish the ride would last a little longer, especially at sunset. Sunset rides on the Wheel have led to many happy marriages over the years as the views may prompt a reluctant groom into popping the long-awaited question, but even if you are already married, have no prospects in sight, or are not ready to say your I dos, the views from the wheel will touch your soul!
Lake Eola Swan Boat, 512 E Washington Street
A walk in the park on a quiet Tuesday morning is guaranteed to offer Orlando views that will have you reaching for your camera, but a ride in one of the Swan Boats on Lake Eola is guaranteed to keep that camera permanently attached to your face! Peaceful and healthy, (the swan boats are pedal powered by you!) the sights and sounds of Orlando life are destined to be ones you never forget, as you lose your train of thought staring at the tall buildings that make up the Orlando skyline, smile at the charm of the real swans regally gliding over the waters near your boat, or sit back and watch the sun set during your winter ride. The swan boats can be rented from 11 AM until 6 PM, so summer rides end long before sunset.
From the Roller Coaster of Your Choice
Ok, we know that you won’t be up high for long, but there are those moments—you know the ones—when you have chugged slowly to the apex and are sitting atop that first dip, waiting for gravity to take you away on a thrilling escapade of curves, loops, and swirls! For those one or two seconds when you are sitting atop of the world, the views will engage you, leaving you breathless and at peace, until the down parts start and the screams begin, that is! Obviously, you will have plenty of roller coasters to choose from during your time in Orlando, including the Incredible Hulk Coaster at Universal, the Kraken at SeaWorld, and Hagrid’s Magical Creatures Motorbike Adventure ride at the Wizarding World of Harry Potter, but whichever one you do choose, remember those views.
On the Patio
Bonus beautiful views can be found on the patio or balcony of your Magnolia Villas sanctuary, so don’t forget to take the time to enjoy them. Reserve yours today!
